200-HOUR HATHA YOGA TEACHER TRAINING – OVERVIEW
Sampoorna originates from Sanskrit, symbolizing the deep sense of ‘fullness,’ ‘completeness,’ and ‘totality.’ This is the essence of Sampoorna Yoga – a path that embraces the profound sense of ‘wholeness’ in yoga, delving into its profound depths.
Our approach to yoga goes beyond physical postures; it’s a comprehensive way of life, a journey encompassing all eight aspects of yoga. At the core of our 200-hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training program, you’ll discover an immersive and transformative experience, thoughtfully designed to impart the wisdom, skills, and unshakable confidence needed to both embrace and share the traditional teachings of hatha yoga.
Our 200-hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training Course is based on the traditional Hatha Yoga system established by ancient yogis like Swami Gorakhnath and Swami Atmaram hundreds of years ago.
The word ‘Hatha’ originates from two sacred sounds: ‘ham’ (representing the sun) and ‘tham’ (representing the moon). So, Hatha Yoga means ‘yoga of balance’ or ‘yoga that brings harmony to the body, mind, and soul.’ In essence, it’s a form of yoga that balances the two major energy channels, ida (moon) and pingala (sun), preparing the body and mind for meditation.
Hatha Yoga techniques involve gentle, meditative asana practices, with a strong emphasis on pranayama (breath control) and meditation, along with yogic cleansing methods known as shatkarma. Our comprehensive Hatha Yoga teacher training curriculum covers ancient philosophical texts, asanas, pranayama, meditation, alignment, adjustments, and offers ample teaching practice opportunities.
While we uphold traditional teachings, our approach is modern and open-minded. We encourage you to bring your own creativity, intuition, and spiritual experiences into your learning and teaching styles. We don’t follow any specific religion or doctrine in our teachings; we embrace yoga as a way of life.
During this traditional hatha yoga teacher training course, you’ll not only deepen your physical practice but also enhance your spiritual understanding of yoga. You’ll gain a deeper understanding of asanas by focusing on key alignments and anatomical structures. Additionally, you’ll delve into pranayama, meditation, kundalini awakening exercises, kriyas, Shatakarma (yogic cleansing techniques), and other ancient yogic practices.”
