OVERVIEW
Whether you have completed a Yin Yoga Teacher Training Course in-person or online with Sampoorna Yoga, or with another recognized Yoga school, this course is for you!
In this Refresher Course, you will revise your knowledge and practice your teaching skills in order to gain confidence to teach Yin Yoga from a functional approach.
COURSE DETAILS
At Sampoorna Yoga Costa Rica:
- If you’ve completed our online course, you will benefit from the in-person experience! You will be practicing all what you’ve learned in the online module. Your days will be filled with asana practice, workshops, Q&A sessions, teaching practice, posture clinics and much more.
- If you’ve completed our in-person course in Goa, or you’ve graduated from another yoga school, you will experience all the above plus you will have access to all the resources available in our online platform.
Over the course of a week, you will practice, study and clarify doubts with our senior lead teachers, improve your practice, share with like-minded yogi fellow students, and develop your teaching skills while indulging in tropical nature!

THE TEACHERS
THE CURRICULUM
Our course is based on the functional approach to yoga, which emphasizes the importance of understanding the human differences, especially the skeletal variations. The main topics we cover in this course are:
- The essential elements of Yin yoga: definition and principles
- The Yin and the Yang
- History of Yin yoga
- Yin yoga vs Restorative yoga
- How to practice Yin yoga
- Anatomy of Yin yoga
- Comparative and functional anatomy
- Aesthetic and functional alignment
- Compression and tension theory
- Connective tissue
- Differences in bones and skeletons
- How skeletal differences affects the postures, range of movements and the joins
- Skeletal segments to define compression areas
- Muscle groups to define tension areas
- Target areas of yoga asanas
- Beneficial effects of Yin yoga on connective tissues, fascia and joints: anatomical and energetic benefits
- Archetypal poses and their variations
- Appropriate use of props
- Sequencing Yin yoga classes
- Teaching methodology of Yin Yoga
NOTE: Topics such as energetic body (meridians and chakras), mindfulness, meditation and pranayama are mentioned but are not the core/emphasis of this course.
DATES AND FEES
The In-person Module will take place in Costa Rica on the following dates:
All fees are per person. Fees are in USD and include taxes:
*Early Bird Discount: $200 if booked 90 days in advance; $100 if booked 60 days in advance; $50 if booked 30 days in advance.
**Sampoorna Alumni Discount: If you hold any certificate with us you may apply for an extra discount of $100
***You may apply for both or any of the above discounts BUT take into account that the maximum amount offered as discount will not exceed $200 per person.
Booking amount $800. Remaining balance to be paid 30 days before the course’s start date.
THE COURSE FEE INCLUDES
- One-year access to all the resources in the online platform
- 7 nights of accommodation in the selected room
- Welcome dinner
- Three vegetarian meals per day during the entire duration of the course
- Breakfast on the check-out day
- Filter water, tea and coffee all day long
- All props needed during the In-person Module
- Wireless internet
- Use of swimming pool
- 30-hr Certificate approved by Yoga Alliance as CEPs
- Included: All our packages include tuition fee, three vegetarian meals, snacks, tea, and free filtered water. No meals on Sundays unless it is the check-in or check out day.
- Not included: Our packages do not include local/domestic/international travel, airport transfers, visa, insurance, tours, or any other liability.
